Sunset Elementary+ Documentary Session (11-7-09)

Yesterday a group of traceurs lit up Sunset Elementary with two back-to-back parkour jams. The first was organized by BAPK, and the second by some Napa Valley guys who wanted to shoot a documentary. A ton of people came and went as the day went on, each with something really great and unique to contribute: new insights, advice, or simply a great willingness to learn - usually all three.

We began at the upper level where the playground is, generally goofing off and exploring the area. It was her… Continue

Saratoga jam review

Yesterday I attended my first BAPK jam with Fyrel and Dogwithrabiez. They were both extremely friendly and patient with my lesser degree of skill, and really weren't afraid to point out my errors and help me improve.

We started out with a bit of chatting, and moved on to vaults, then went to wall runs, balance, and flow. We wrapped up with some really intense QM training and did a short run. What's amazing is that I was really pushed my limits in each of these techniques, and drastically improv… Continue

swing those arms!

If you've ever trained with me, you've heard me say over and over (other than lean forward) "SWING YOUR ARMS!" i have always been a fan of, and will every single time, tell you to use the full extension of your arm swing. swing both of your hands all the way (comfortably) behind you. as you swing your arms forward- don't bend at the elbows, keep them straight (other than the very slight natural bend that comes from remaining relaxed), don't tense up, and then reach out fully in front of y… Continue

Hansen's photo contest

PLEASE vote for us!

Jodie, Niko, Natasha & I were conditioning on Saturday, and after a death defying hike through Mile Rock Beach, we came across a Hansen's Soda Truck. They're giving away $500 a week to the best photo showing off SF, so we'd greatly appreciate it if you voted for our photo. The setup is by the ramp at the Ocean Beach Seawall, and while Jodie & Niko are freerunning,… Continue

Let's get some designs going for BAPK south bay shirts. I just whipped these up - they've got a bit more of a graphic tee feel to 'em - lemme know what you think. here's a washed-out white version of the same design for a royal blue background
