Sundays are usually in SF from noon-3:30- check the events calendar for upcoming locations. This coming Sunday is at CCSF which is about two blocks from the Balboa Park BART.

Where and when are the Sunday Practices?
fluffybunny Comment by fluffybunny on October 18, 2009 at 12:17am
Hi Lucas. SafeNSure is right, the regular Sunday practices are great for beginners. Also, there are regular sessions in Berkeley:

- Monday Conditioning: 630pm @ Doe Library on the UC Berkeley Campus
- Wednesday Conditioning (more suited to beginners, as Monday is pretty strenuous): 630pm @ Doe Library
- Thursday Weekly Berkeley Jam: 630pm above the Bactel Engineering library at UC Berkeley

We're very open to beginners at any session, so feel free to make an appearance. Also, make sure to check out the sessions on the "Events" page...drop me a line for more information. Good luck training!

Hey, since I'm a begginer and in the east bay area, is anyone gonna be doing any events for begginers like me? Or where are some places I could start parkour training/conditioning at?

Haha alright sounds good. I'll check that all out.

Yea, we're all still here. Just slacking a bit between posting regular stuff to BAPK, SFPK and Cal Parkour on facebook. We have regular sessions on Monday (6:30, Doe Library, Conditioning), Wednesday (6:30, Doe Library, Lighter Conditioning) and Thursday (6:30, above Bactel Library, Berkeley weekly jam).

Contact myself (Andrew) or messenger33 (Seng) for more information...I'll try to get back into posting stuff. Too busy training :-).

Erik- check the event calendar for training and jam sessions just about everyday. It's not too tough to get to SF via BART if there isn't a carpool forming. If you are looking for instruction, the regular Sunday basic training is a good place to start.

The main weekly EB session is at UC-Berkeley at 6pm on Thursdays which usually happens even if it's not on the event calendar. There are often willing teachers (myself included), but it's more of a jam format than the Sunday training.

As the saying goes, when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Or similarly, it's not important to know the answers as much as it is to know how to go about finding them. I think of parkour in terms of music- it's important to b...

I suppose it depends a bit on your personal training style. What do you what to emphasize in your training? What interests you? If all you want is to be as fast as you can, then I can see wanting to find your strengths and relying on them almost e...

LOL, good answer. I think I see what you mean now. So then, you'd say that the original question here is moot. It's not a question of technique but rather of instict and experience, and that neither "quality" nor "quantity" matter. Am I...missin...

I think we should try to learn as many techniques as possible but NOT as fast as possible. I would start with the basic ones, and get those down before you elaborate on them and learn more advanced techniques. ...and everything Giorgio said is t...
