passes not vaults, and center of gravity t-shirts

The idea that kongs (and most other vaults, but especially kongs) are actually quadrupedal movement has been knocking around in my head for the last few weeks. I've been meaning to write something more stodgy and authoritative sounding, but since I've been too busy to do so I'm just going to throw it out there. The idea occurred to me when I was working on double kongs because the way I gained confidence in my arms was to bend forward and fall or jump onto them and feel how they supported my bod… Continue

proprioception drills and finishing strong

Inspired by the Parkour Generations Quadrepedie on Rails and Conditioning Through Movement videos and by looking for a way to stay focused during recovery from aerobic activity, I've started thinking about proprioception drills. I imagine everyone here knows what proprioception is, but in case ya don't, it's basically your internal awareness of where your body parts are relative to o… Continue

post-bunker thoughts for improvement

Thoughts from the bunker session today (thanks to all who made me think and assess my method, esp SafeNSure, Aero and Kaos):

• Try getting there on time for once. It would help if I went to sleep before, oh, 5am and got up before 11am. I want to see what other folks are doing for their warmups.

• Work on getting down instead of just going up. Lazy-vaultish descent off the flat roof to the walkway which could easily go into an underbar down another level then run around to wall run up to roof,… Continue

Hi! I sometimes make it to Fri open gym at CFM, when my schedule allows. That is where I train in general, and I've gotten SO much stronger in a year. To be honest the gymnastics and parkour are very challenging and progress is slow, but it's all worth it because it's leading to having more fun!

Well ya, I know that the cap jam isn't the soonest one, but I not gonna be headed up to the jams in the city too often. I'm goin to the cap one cuz it's skating distance from my house. I live in san mateo so im only like 10 miles away or so.
