@ Alex - Do you aim to change SFPK? You will fail. There is no point anyways. They are allowed to have their site/group with their own goals. A natural evolution has occurred in SF. A new group emerged that has a preference for training without c...

I have a new challenge. First: crawl up this staircase (or long staircase of choice, just keep using the same set) backwards- from the bottom up. Then: time it and see how long it takes to reach the top. Try to shorten the breaks at each landing...

At gym jams is when the monsters inside this Bapk "mentality" are allowed to roam free. If you are going tonight try something "stunt" like or "showcase" something "excessive". This is your time to get a little more "reckless", and just bust some...

Jump Sky High!

Recently I went to Sky High Sports in Santa Clara and I highly recommend it. It was only $9 for an hour of jumping which turned out to be more than I bargained for. I got on the trampolines and started bouncing all over the place continually. I went up and down as high as I could, did front flips, back flips, jumped off the walls as far as I could, and finally I was completely exhausted. I had to bend over and take a breather. My lungs burned, I… Continue

Insulted by a shoe salesman

Recently a shoe salesman attempted to advertise on NEPK. I am not entirely opposed to ads. Some of you may remember that we had Google ads on the old site, and you can see that our new site has them as well.

A problem arose in this case when the salesman attempted to advertise without asking first. That is a big no no. Advertisers should have the respect to contact a site's administrator before attempting to place ads. That is spam and it is clearly not allowed. When I politely told him that wa… Continue

How to Practice Parkour: A guide for those about to take the first step

Before beginning to train Parkour, you must consider your physical condition. You should not attempt any technique that your body cannot handle the consequences of. You need to either build strength, endurance, speed etc. before you start training, or progress at such a slow rate that your body is conditioned by your training process.

There are many different ways to train Parkour, most of which are valid and useful depending on the practitioners intentions. One of the original methods of train… Continue

The Importance Of BAparkour

Our name is a little deceiving. We are called Bay Area Parkour, but in reality we have the best representation of active practitioners in the city of San Francisco. We have an amazing group. We help each other, we look out for each others safety, and we train together...a lot!

Last weekend at the end of our session, we were roaming and jamming. I performed very technical and slightly dangerous cat leap. Dimitri, who is always eager and confident, gave it a try. He came up short being no worse f… Continue

Hello Kaos,

My name is Josh (online alias is Haku, if you prefer). I have heard a lot about you and have seen you in the "Point B" documentary recently. I've seen your name ever since I started Parkour a few years ago! I've always wanted to meet you, but I think due to the...SF Parkour community (SFParkour.com) "politics", I haven't been able to really talk to you.

You are in the San Francisco area, correct? In the documentary there was a segment of you hosting a class, and was wondering when you held those classes, and other sessions. It would be great to meet you!

Thanks!
-Josh (Haku)

you should seriously consider getting a Roomba. I've solid research here that cats dig em. They'd entertain Chuck and clean your room, win/win!
