@ jarryd:
...most definitely check out the Australian PK Association website at: www.parkour.asn.au

Also, you can contact Xavier or Argie, who have been with us from the beginning, and are more familiar with your geographic area.

Also check out this guide, which could come handy...

Would anyone like the idea of a silent training session? Where the focus is all on the movement and you talk only about the technique and for help. I would love to make this a regular thing, just imagining it, the discipline and amount of focused practice that would be done.

i trained alone and almost ended up with a concussion...personally i think its really unintelligent unless you are working on grass doing things like handstands, handsprings, rolls, what not. If you are going to work some rails, ledges, and train on concrete in general get a friend to watch
Kirill Comment by Kirill on December 29, 2008 at 8:54pm
training solo is simple. Just go somewhere far from your home. This is good, just because it will be a lot less tempting to come home. I trained solo a lot... Time has become an issue now though :(.

I suggest training small things on your own. One might get hurt..it might be nice to have a friend around....

I trained handstands+rolls+handsprings on my lawn for a very long while......

This made my roll a LOT better. just for the record, I trained on my lawn for six months. Usually each after school day for an hour....

I'll train solo if my brother's too preoccupied to come out with me. What's your problem?

Members can go hit any spot downtown, and shoot an alert to the whole group... somebody will show. If you have ideas for micro-session suitable spots, list them in the two discussions below, for midday and late pm trainings.

I think what the story above shows is that fear is not entirely an internal process. The Isreali guy understood the difference between when someone really wants to kill him and when someone is expressing something else which has very little to do ...

Good post. Yes, l think fear is like an obstacle in that we should pay good attention to it when it gets in our way, but we should also overcome it when necessary.

There are moments when the fear is necessary. I'm talking about the times when the fear is arbitrary and hinders your movement, like the kind described in Dog's article here: http://baparkour.ning.com/profiles/blogs/injuries-soreness-and

good question Marisa, that line is too fine and too subjective. i interchange fearlessness with overconfidence-- just short of stupidity
