This Sunday, we'll be at a NEW "spot": the Minnie Lovie Ward recreation center!
(former Ocean View recreation center -still on maps w/this designation-)
pls. double-check, but it looks like two blocks away from MuniBus #38, which connects to Balboa Park BART station...

Thanks Kamau (aka: Iliketovaultthings), for the good tip!

...17-18 brave, courageous traceurs and fresh beginners dared the treacherous, infamous location and got away, not only alive and kicking, but happily tired and with some local appreciation.
[pls. note: *irony]

For those who didn't notice (or weren't there) the local Sunday "warden" -after checking on us to make sure we weren't the next gang terrorizing the borough...- offered to talk to his boss, entertaining the idea that we could host there regular classes for adults and kids!

Maybe it's a far stretch, maybe he gonna get himself fired (lol!), but it just shows what good manners, ready explanations and some compliance can get you... potentially...

Final thing: he asked pls. not to mention him, or his partial approval, in case somebody else confronts us in the future about training at the spot,,, understandable, and we shouldn't betray his sympathy.

The way that I do it is I cover my car in dust. If someone wants to steal it, they'll have to take it the carwash before they can actually do anything else with it.

I used to live on Pac Heights... got my car broken in twice and one Saturday (afternoon) I had to chase two petty thieves away from the apt. building where they sneaked passing as UPS guys.
Neighborhoods don't define dangerous situations, circumstances do...

But I agree, life's a b!t@h, that's (also) why we train...
;)
