knee PAIN

My knee hurts, I can't even rotate it. Going to the doctor, must get better, OUCH!

Not the most graceful...

...But i'm getting there.

I have been coming to jams and training sessions for 6 weeks now, and am truly enjoying it. I feel stress free when I am with the BApk crew. This may be a tiny insignificant revelation for the others I have met, but for me it's a huge step. I have Asperger's syndrome, which tends to make me socially inept, mind numbingly awkward, and a bit of an introvert. BAPK is a big milestone for me because it is the first time I have willingly joined a social group and not… Continue

well when i was recovering i just laid on the couch, watched tv, read. i figured if you can't elevate your abs above your heart comfortably i could at least break even ;)

ohhhhh dude you pulled an ab? i did the same thing my second week of training! i was so excited to climb this thing (ok it was a vending machine) that i leapt straight onto it without doing any stretches first, and i'd already trained heavily the day before. I got a minor tear in my lower ab and was huddled in pain :[ thankfully my friend and i went back to his house right away so i could ice it, and i just kept icing it, and it healed rather quickly.

remember, RICE! (rest, ice, compression, elevation). get well soon :)

from about.com: (if this is indeed what happened).
stupid lazy vaults ;)

What is the treatment for a pulled abdominal muscle?
Treatment of abdominal muscle injuries is difficult--there is no way to splint the abdomen and it is nearly impossible to fully rest these muscles. That said, the most important step after sustaining an abdominal muscle strain is to allow the muscle to cool down and allow the inflammation to subside. Avoiding exercise to allow the injured muscle to heal is important. Activities that cause pain or spasm of the abdominal muscles should be avoided.

Gentle stretching is helpful, but it should not be painful. Stretching excessively can be harmful, and slow the healing process. Apply ice to the injured area in the acute phase (first 48 hours after injury), and then after activities. Before activities, gentle heating can help to loosen the muscle.

heal up!.. so we can have more fun!
