Event Description

This will be an itinerant training -starting at China Beach-, but moving up to Fort Miley after an hour or so (see full route here!).
We highly reccomend to show up on time.

Session description:
This training provides a healthy atmosphere for new practitioners to start parkour, and for everyone to advance in a safe way. This is achieved in several ways. Because safety is paramount, a positive example is set by the more experienced practitioners. This means you will always see warm ups, stretching, and slow progression of movement. It also means there will be no showing off, which leads to copy-cat behavior and subsequently injuries. Rather, people pass on knowledge humbly in a group effort to advance. While there may be several different skill levels represented at these sessions, everyone keeps a beginner mentality.

Another key aspect in this beginner atmosphere is the absence of media. There are no camera crews or reporters to get in the way or cause people to feel self-conscious. While individuals may bring cameras, they should politely ask before filming/shooting anyone other than themselves.

The perception that parkour practice is (and should be) fun, yet being "a discipline, not a game", is set from the beginning. While the atmosphere is relaxed and can be playful at times, horseplay is discouraged, and teasing, mocking, and cliquish behaviors are not tolerated...

Basic/beginners training provided, but ALL LEVELS present and WELCOME!

Minors and Newcomers pls. check this frequently asked questions about liability. =)

Ha! And it's free, in case you were wondering...

Thanks Benny for joining in today and showing us a couple of tricks, right out of the magic hat!
:)

And commuters day today, with -I believe- at least 9 people out of the East, South and North Bay...
Way to kick off the season!

I can give rides with pickups between Chinatown and China Beach. I'll be in Chinatown from mid-morning until about 11:30.

POSTPONED TO 5/23! (next Sunday)
After walking through the route today, and considering the traffic bottleneck (only N/S crossing in the city at Noon being GGPark...), we considered that we cannot do this on a day subjected to delays.
We need all the time scheduled, and we will be much more relaxed next Sunday.

SUBSTITUTED by CCSF 5/16 training, which has easier access from the South and from the East Bay (Ocean Av. exit from 280 South or Balboa Park BART).

SORRY for any inconvenience/disappointment!
:)

Ok so i live in Brentwood CA... bought an hour and a half drive from here. how much wiggle room should i give myself for the bay-to-breaker traffic? because i want to arrive on time, if not early to the meet.

Allow for plenty more time to get to China Beach Sunday:

Traffic will be greatly impacted during the Bay-to-Breaker. The only North/South roads open throughout the race are The Embarcadero and 19th Avenue. All streets will be reopened as soon as the last runners pass and the street has been cleaned...
