Train Hard - Stay Humble

...starting off from BApk very own:

- "the hard work of slow progression"
- "Train Hard - Stay Humble"

and some we profoundly agree with:

- "Teachers open the door, you enter by yourself."
- "Good teachers create more teachers, not more students."
- "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

Haha... I love that quote.

"It is not at all an idle matter trying to define what a human being is." -Primo Levi (Italian Chemist)
"There is no end. There is no beginning. There is only the infinite passion of life." -Federico Fellini
straight out of Jibril's profile, and slightly generalized:
"...once I see another man do something, I KNOW I have the capacity to do the same thing.
If I can break it down, articulating exactly what he did, the only difference between us will be 'gung fu' [hard work/training].
Hot off the presses:
"That is what I will try to do today, to speak the truth as best I can. Humbled by the task before us and firm in my belief that the interests we share as human beings are far more powerful than the forces that drive us apart." - Barack Obama, Cairo University, June 2009

And another one I like to think of when I'm feeling lazy about conditioning:
"If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be.
Now put foundations under them."
Henry David Thoreau
"Fear is only another obstacle in life that needs to be overcome"
I don't remember where I got this, if anything I probably fused 2 other quotes
Now I'm not exactly a Christian but I find Jesus quotes to be amazingly badass.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

Finding your own path, not the path of others is what parkour is centered around.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.' II Corinthians 5:7”

That's faith in ourselves and our abilities, as well as each other.

“If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.(Gospel of St. Thomas)”

That is, don't deny your freakin nature. Accept and bring forth the instinctual side of yourself.

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today." (Matthew 6:34)

Be present, don't overthink your crap, and be totally in the moment - in the NOW.

And now for some allaround awesome quotes.

Success is not measured by the heights one attains, but by the obstacles one overcomes in its attainment.
-Booker T. Washington

To overcome difficulties is to experience the full delight of existence.
-Arthur Schopenhauer

Thus, flexibility, as displayed by water, is a sign of life. Rigidity, its opposite, is an indicator of death.
-Anthony Lawlor
(I thought this one was really profound when I first saw it :/)

There is an art, or rather a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.
-Douglas Adams
(always a good one, and surprisingly relevant)

In our dreams we are able to fly ... and that is a remembering of how we were meant to be.
-Madeleine L'Engle

When work, commitment, and pleasure all become one and you reach that deep well where passion lives, nothing is impossible.
-N/A

Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.
-Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

Well, that's all i've got for now. Thanks to everybody else who contributed - I love 'em all.

From a surfer's t-shirt of the eighties:

"One day the storm will pass,

the wind will calm and the waves will be gone,

and all the rides and wipe-outs will be forgotten...

But you will always remember the people."

“Before I learned the art, a punch was just a punch, and a kick, just a kick.
After I learned the art, a punch was no longer a punch, a kick, no longer a kick.
Now that I understand the art, a punch is just a punch and a kick is just a kick.”

-Bruce Lee-

"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.
The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.’"
Nelson Mandela (1918 – 2013, R.I.P.)
