Dear Neighbors,

Due to the current economic problems in San Francisco, the Recreation and Park Department is facing severe staff and facility cuts.

Please let the Mayor know that the Recreation Department is an asset to our community. Please write and inform him of the impact you would feel if we lose our Directors and if Recreation facilities start closing in our area. If we don't let him know we could face losing Early Childhood programs, Youth Activities, Senior Citizen programs, gym time and many other activities that directors provide.

Hey man, I won't be able to make this.

Good luck, Xavier!!!

...ok, here's the deal:

Since the Noe Valley training for tonight is canceled, nobody called for a downtown jam, and the weather is sketchy, why don't we try to get together around City Hall, say 4/4:15, and go somewhere from there?

If it's dry we can hit Manalo Graves Park (from the Kiddie Jam), which is a short walk away, or just go for coffee, smoothies or a snack together.

Hopefully Xavier, who is leaving for Australia today, will join us too, and we'll be able to say "farewell"... (anybody has his cell# ?)

I agree. I think right now it is more important for citizens to have money than for the government to have money. The Rec and Park Department provides a lot of jobs, therefore putting money into people's pockets. And, of course, they are great to practice at!!!

I have a couple of questions though:

1. Which playgrounds do they plan on closing permanently?
2. Which playgrounds do they plan on renting to private companies?
3. Which playgrounds would we be restricted access to if this were to happen?

@alex: of course man, there's always going to be reasons for both sides, but we get to speak up in our government to tell them what we want, and i want our parks. i want to make sure they know that.

Ok, I read something in a book recently. It said that before you get yourself into a debate or argument, whether it is against another person or the government, or a company, you should always look at the problem from their point of view.

Maybe they are not the "bad guys", and maybe it is a better decision to reduce spending at this point. I'm not saying that that's my opinion, I'm saying that there may be an opposite, but very valid argument, that we should realize before we try to argue one side.

Good cause-

But you have to understand them ...
Wow... the recession was felt.

But I still dont understand how CEOs manage to write themselves 20 million $ bonuses when the ecenomy is in the tiolet though
