Event Description

1.4 miles from BART/Caltrain (see map)

Session description:
This training provides a healthy atmosphere for new practitioners to start parkour, and for everyone to advance in a safe way. This is achieved in several ways. Because safety is paramount, a positive example is set by the more experienced practitioners. This means you will always see warm ups, stretching, and slow progression of movement. It also means there will be no showing off, which leads to copy-cat behavior and subsequently injuries. Rather, people pass on knowledge humbly in a group effort to advance. While there may be several different skill levels represented at these sessions, everyone keeps a beginner mentality.

Another key aspect in this beginner atmosphere is the absence of media. There are no camera crews or reporters to get in the way or cause people to feel self-conscious. While individuals may bring cameras, they should politely ask before filming/shooting anyone other than themselves.

The perception that parkour practice is (and should be) fun, yet being "a discipline, not a game", is set from the beginning. While the atmosphere is relaxed and can be playful at times, horseplay is discouraged, and teasing, mocking, and cliquish behaviors are not tolerated...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
We do not expect problems or difficulties, but we know fall back locations at driving distance.
Capuchino is a secluded spot, protected from outside view; we'll be meeting on the courtyard adjacent to the back parking lot (west) at 12:00; feel free to take a look around, if you get there earlier, but AS ALWAYS avoid roofs or trespassing into buildings
.

ALL LEVELS WELCOME!

I've got 2-3 spaces open coming from North Berkeley, leaving 11am. Possible detour to Mongolian BBQ afterwards so plan on that or a BART return trip. Message me if interested.

the whole back seemed fine last time... there were more skaters than rails (and there's full of rails)... it's a huge area, we never made it back to the front again... also the superjuicy rails in front (that in my memory we never trained) are outside the compound, pretty much like training on the parking lot...

Nevertheless, pls. be considerate.

I'm probably gonna be up all night the night before, and I'm not sure I'll be in any condition for physical activity by training time. But I'll make it if I can.
As for the maintenance lady, she never saw us again after she supposedly kicked us out last time, even though we were there for several more hours. As far as she knows, we respectfully left the premises. So all we have to do is "leave" again if she gives us anymore trouble.

lol Dimitri and I went there and this old lady kept on telling us to stop jumping, so we went somewhere else.
