Session description:
This training provides a healthy atmosphere for new practitioners to start parkour, and for everyone to advance in a safe way. This is achieved in several ways. Because safety is paramount, a positive example is set by the more experienced practitioners. This means you will always see warm ups, stretching, and slow progression of movement. It also means there will be no showing off, which leads to copy-cat behavior and subsequently injuries. Rather, people pass on knowledge humbly in a group effort to advance. While there may be several different skill levels represented at these sessions, everyone keeps a beginner mentality.

Another key aspect in this beginner atmosphere is the absence of media. There are no camera crews or reporters to get in the way or cause people to feel self-conscious. While individuals may bring cameras, they should politely ask before filming/shooting anyone other than themselves.

The perception that parkour practice is (and should be) fun, yet being "a discipline, not a game", is set from the beginning. While the atmosphere is relaxed and can be playful at times, horseplay is discouraged, and teasing, mocking, and cliquish behaviors are not tolerated...

We do not expect problems or difficulties, but we know fall back locations at driving distance.
Capuchino is a secluded spot, protected from outside view; we'll be meeting at the palm tree indicated on the map at 12:30; feel free to take a look around, if you get there earlier, but AS ALWAYS avoid roofs or trespassing into buildings
.

ALL LEVELS WELCOME!

Mein Gott, I never thought I'd get so much medical advice here at BAPK. :)
I drank a ton of loose leaf green tea today and I'm still feeling okay right now, so we'll see how I last for the next few days. I've also got two Halloween parties between now and then, which probably aren't going to help get me any rest.

But hey, it's Capuchino. It's worth it, even in the rain.

...there's rain and rain.
Slipping is a concern, but doesn't happen only because of rain... sand on concrete, heavy dust on painted walls, only as examples, offer even more treacherous and unexpected traps...

Rain it is an obstacle as any other, but we will consider that (a.) safety of trainings is paramount, (b.) health of participants also.

In conclusion:
- heavy rains (pouring) typically calls a training off, unless it's already happening, in which case we look for a covered area and we work on basics, if possible, or conditioning drills.
- drizzle, casual showers allow for on-and-off, very careful training on safe surfaces.

In any event, pls. remember: we ALWAYS train under or own, individual responsibility, therefore critical judgment of conditions and circumstances MUST be used at all time, and the rule of thumb is "if in doubt, don't...".

Thanks for bringing this up!

I was thinking the same thing. I'd be worried about slipping.

hey it looks like it might rain this weekend, what normally happens if it rains during an event?

Sleep extra, that'll help anything.

And I heard moving around help too. *hint hint*

my vote is emergenC. It works pretty well. Don't take to much, cause massive amounts of vitamin c can mess up your digestive track.

Gatorade is supposedly good during a cold, because it contains extra electrolytes and hydrates you better than water. Just don't overkill on it, I don't think a hundred grams of sugar is going to help. Actually, I think excessive amounts of sugar weakens your immune system, so...

If it's humanly possible for me to make it, I absolutely will. I love training at Capuchino so much.

But I'm coming down with a cold, and it might hit me full force over the weekend. :( We'll see though.
