to Frenchie: the purpose of the "nomadic" or "itinerant" session is, aside of checking out more spots, being able to check out "spots that you are very likely to get kicked out of". This is annoying and (very) disappointing to beginners/newcomers, but it's an unfortunate reality of Parkour, contradicting the wide usage of the discipline in movies and advertisement (which btw. proves how little positive fallback real-life practitioners can draw by the "commercialization of pk"... but that's only my opinion...).

Typically, what would happen is: we warm up without hitting architectural elements and w/o hindering foot traffic (as any bootcamp session); then we start exemplifying and practicing moves on whatever we can find, w/o damaging property; then we run a couple of lines through the elements; at that point we very likely have attracted enough attention and we move on to another spot a little further away and repeat.
At any time after the warm up, depending on a combination of factors -not lastly, luck- we may be asked to stop practicing and move along by security/safety officers, which we immediately do, while politely explaining what we were doing (usually one/two guys most experienced with this particular instance...). Then we move somewhere else (usually off-premises) and keep on training...

This IS Parkour, and it's a great experience for everybody who hasn't done it yet...

to D.Rod 004: see above and substitute "intense" with "instructional".. we are not going to be chased away, and we are not going to have to run away...
We may have to move along, and trying to avoid that, we'll be stay permanently "on the move" as Ryan said.

This is feasible by anybody who can jog... otherwise you may speedwalk... but watch out for the snickers! Lol...

Is this really for beginners? It seems kinda intense. haha. I think i am going to go. Just a little worried that this is only my second time. Def a first in a "red zone".

wait wait, isn't state a red zone on the map? wasn't there trouble with security?
Comment by Ryan Fulmer on July 31, 2008 at 9:32pm
we are DEFINITELY gonna be "on the move" the whole time at STATE, just a heads up....
