This is my first Parkour/Freerunning sampler. I have been meaning to film one, but whenever I would start to film, I wouldn't like what I captured, delete it, and train instead. This time I am forcing myself to put a video up. How can I progress if I don't even know what I look like? So, I filmed this, not trying to "impress", but rather, as I naturally would practice Parkour.
My goal was to keep this short and simple - you don't get many obstacles living in the suburbs anyways. Constructive criticism is appreciated...technique, filming, editing...anything related to this video.
My first opinion is WOW, I see some bad habits. Right off the bat it my body positioning. I seem hunched at parts of the video. Second, the flow isn't that great. Some of the rail flow was choppy because I was doing vaults on a rail too low for me, but I should be able to fix that. I also stutter step at times. My running stride should be more natural and wider. Third, I am not giving it 100% power and speed. When I am actually practicing, it seems like I am going fast, but viewing it in 3rd person, it is slow...what's up with that?
Time for more practice!
