Lakeview Elementary, Oakland

Bio and I did a little recon after the usual Sunday session. Lakeview Elementary is right off the Grand Ave exit of 580 in Oakland, right across from the Grand Theater. Lots spots to play around on, about a block away from food and beverage, not much of a walk/run from many downtown Oakland spots (and probably a lot of others yet undiscovered). Could be excellent for a Sunday session on this side of the water.

What better way to practice being chased than by cops?

I didn't get on the roofs to check the sight lines, but there isn't residential right next to it like GWHS- it's kind of an island between a highway, an onramp and a retail strip. Maybe safe to be on the roof, but of course we should be vigilant about this (I think the gaps aren't that big, actually). I think BBQ or pizza down by the lake would be even better than next to the offramp in the yard, but either spot would be fun.

Traffic is fairly low, esp. since it's summer, but there were a couple guys shooting hoops and a few kids riding their bikes through there (ped bridges basically empty into the yard). My guess is that Oakland cops would rather have people being civil in the playgrounds than being a variable in the streets.
