I'm sure you didn't mean to do that, and that it did feel awkward, but the worst would have been if her husband/father/less-startled girlfriend would have been aside her: you would have gotten into a nasty confrontation, for nothing.
Far from "giving parkour a bad name", nevertheless it's our responsibility to check the surroundings for oncoming people (especially kids!) and neither impress (because we don't need to), nor scare anybody (because we don't want to).
With the latest situations (1., 2. and 3.) all confrontations have to be avoided...

Yeah B-Bob is a good guy. Wont steal your stuff or mug you....
Plus, if you are above the GGB chances are these guys are the closest training group.
