Train Hard - Stay Humble

Hello Traceuses, Traceurs

I have been catching myself procrastinating lately. IN fact, I am procrastinating right now. lol. That was pretty ironic. Does anyone combat this issue a lot? Do you peeps know some ways of how to get rid of this nasty habit? We all know that leaving things to the last sec is bad...But a lot of people still do it! I should probably try to exercise my power of will shouldn't I? Any good strategies on how to overcome this Obstacle?

Thanks to everyone for any input!

Right on. You know that's a symptom of perfectionism? procrastination is often a side effect of that for the reason you exactly state, fear of getting it wrong. Except the "redo" strategy hardly applies to high school projects, in my case hah
Unfortuatly that doesn't apply as well to art. The paint and everything else stays put. Meaning I keep starting paintings then not finishing them for fear of messing them up.
I've found that the less I think about something, the more likely I am to do it quickly and not put it off. That's pretty much common sense, I think. If I make a snap decision and just start doing something, then I've already invested some of myself in it and I'll want to see it through to the end. But if I put a lot of thought into it, I'll come up with reasons why I can't or shouldn't do it, and that makes me put it off longer and longer.
That completely applies to parkour, too; I find the more I think about trying something, the more I psych myself out and the less likely I'm actually going to do something. Sometimes thinking about stuff is a bad thing, eh?
yeah lol stop thinking about your footwork, and you'll stop running up to the obstacle 5-6 times before you vault it...
I should try that. for me it is not five or 6 times, but anywhere from 12 to indefinatly.
Though it does help you overcome fear...

That's also why I hurt myself more than anyone else. They're all minor injuries though, so I think it's worth it...
Very interesting perspectives...

Just want to let you guys know that I stopped procrastinating and studied Chinese and biology. (Dana will be proud.)

So everybody congratulate me now lol
Woohoo, go biology, yeah Alex!

It was exact thing I was talking about before for me earlier tonight. Usually it takes me forever to write out a decent email to someone I haven't talked to in a long time, but I managed to write a sentence or two without even thinking and before I knew it I had a nice, long message typed out. Worked perfectly.
Play more WoW.
lol
Cant we overcome this obstacle later?

On a more serious note, I have just suffered the consequences enough times to where I just learn to sit down and do it.
