Event Description

This is a participants self-organized session, updated for scheduling purposes from week-to-week.

For the season coming up, we are moving the session to Thursdays (with the possibility of eventually catching up a missed date on Friday, based on the participants goodwill and OWN organization). We'll be meeting at Hensill Hall main entrance (by the two low walls), but we may move around campus, depending on weather and mood.

If you have attended Progression Sessions before, you know who's typically coming, so feel free to hit them up and invite them on a specific date you are going (you may have to befriend them first)...

Now, if you never have, please read the session description.
:)

Session description:

This training provides a healthy and motivated atmosphere for existing practitioners to progress their parkour, and to do this in a safe, peer-reviewed, no-BS and no-sitting around way.

The goal of these sessions is to enhance the effectiveness of our parkour practice, through advancements in precision, speed, control, power, stamina, resistance, determination and confidence. The mean to achieve this, will be perfecting short combinations of basic movements through intense repetitions in order to ultimately trigger instinctive reactions and reduce transition time.

The more experienced practitioners will set a positive example by focusing on a thorough warm up, dynamic stretching, cardio-vascular resistance and precise repetition of movement (see examples). There will be no showing off, rather humbly passing on of knowledge, in a group effort to keep up the pace of the drills and advance together. Also we will try to maintain our focus on uninterrupted motion from drill start to finish (A-to-B). All while keeping safety as paramount.

While there may be different physical or technical skill levels represented at these sessions, everyone will keep an eye out for anybody needing advice or encouragement. Absolute novices, with no previous experience in group training of parkour or other physical disciplines, are advised to consider first beginning with a Basic Training (Sundays).

The perception that while the practice of parkour is fun, it's "a discipline, not a game" will be tangible and is required.

Everybody pls. check this frequently asked questions about liability.

I'm seriously trying to make it tonight.
We'll probably be and stay at Hensil Hall, unless the weather improves, hence try to be on time cause it may be a shorter one.

Rested my chest for a bit, but it got worse after I worked out. I'll need to take it easy for a while

Hopefully someone will show!

But anybody certain of going please do post a bit earlier (1 to 2 hours before), because it's a BIG incentive for the "mights" to make it to training.

...usually people meet at the two lower walls, by the actual sliding-doors building entrance.

So just wait in front of the building facing 19th is fine or the elevator area?

Hi Bryan: the first person that actually trained got there at 7:15. Sorry about that, but the busy Fall school session send us searching for parking spots. The second got there at 7:30 when training started and a third joined us at about 8:00. We stayed at HH for another 30 minutes and then went around campus until 9:30.

Thanks for being on time, but next time hang out a bit more just to see if someone shows (especially if there're "attending" RSVPs).

You can get phone #s from people once you meet them in person for sure.
