Bay Area Parkour

Train Hard - Stay Humble

I have been thinking a lot recently, and I think it is time that we start to do something about getting a good reputation for parkour and freerunning. I think that we have all promoted this cause, but we have not really contributed to it. I think that if we are passive about getting a good reputation for ourselves and our discipline, the media will eventually get the word out about parkour, and portray it as a "thrill seeker" sport. We will end up in the same situation skateboarding did. I think that we all agree that we don't want that.

So, instead of being passive, let's organize ourselves and get something going to save parkour and freerunning from getting a bad name.

Post your ideas here.

By feature I meant the documentary's sole content wouldn't be the clean up event.
Yes. Agreed.
I think we need to fight for what we believe in. If we don't, parkour will end up with skateboarding's reputation.
http://www.sfparkour.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1959 SAVE THE DATE - 12/20 Charity Jam in SF @ 1PM
Beretta and NoSole and Meatlad have all been promoting this idea and the other Reps and I of course thought it was a great idea, so we are getting this in the works.

More details very soon, but just after the Bunkers session, this Saturday 12/20 at 1PM we are planning on doing a volunteer beach cleanup and then an Ocean Beach jam afterwards. Save the date and try and make it out!

Wear your t-shirts and rep the SFPK community, or just do it on your own! Either way its great to be able to give back and help those in need. SFPK is planning to do a big end of year push and try and log a bunch of volunteer hours, and donate a bunch of stuff and $$ in the name of our parkour community. We'll be posting a few charities, groups and events that you may want to participate in, or use for your own research to volunteer other times.
