Bay Area Parkour

Train Hard - Stay Humble

The first parkour/Free Running video i ever saw, and still one of my favorites. Anytime I hear one of these songs, i remember this and get hyped to go train.

This one wasn't the first time I saw parkour, but I think it was the first time I saw what parkour could really do. The super multi tic tac monkey climb thing at 3:06 really made think about movement long before I started practicing parkour.

Definitely a classic which in all likelihood cemented the tradition of setting your parkour videos to French rap.

Although Oleg Vorslav is one of the athletes who is signing with the WFPF...

I used to respect him a lot, now I'm not really sure what to think of him.

No matter what, he is amazing.

...I remember clearly this being the first video that I decide NOT to put on my Ipod to show people what I was getting myself into (and not that I didn't have some other crazy stuff: I had Piptrix and Skynative!).

I dunno... back then it seemed like a deathwish nightmare...lol!
I mean, I NOW know how good Oleg is (now), but back then, and from from 2:10 on, it seemed like a teenager needing to prove something (com'n... the backflip at 2:42 must be 16+ feet... the straight drop at 4:40 also)...
I remember thinking "at my age I don't need/want to be associated with this", and it probably influenced my screenname choice.
;)

Then again: I also remember thinking: "whatever this guys are taking, I need some!" Lol!!!
:)

Also the first time I saw Parkour. Someone sent me a link to this video in 2006. Although at the time, I didn't even know there was a name for it. Just thought it was really cool! So many practioners first video. Interesting...

I love this one, but I can never make myself sit down and watch the whole thing at once.
