yeah, i say, that is the best way to start learning rolls. Once u feel u have that down, then try going from the balls of your feet yes

hey that's looking pretty good :] be careful about doing it on your knee though - you DO NOT want to land like that from a fall. see if you can practice from the balls of your feet now.
