I commented quite strictly on PKNA about this, because I see a lots of "ironies" in what Stephan says (in my opinion: he's not talking for himself, but for PKGen...), even if I like Stephan and the way he trains and lives pk.
Here's the list:
Irony #1: at the beginning it was Yamakazi... yet everybody talks about Parkour... in UK, following Foucan "freedom-of-movement-vision", the majority mixed it with outdoor/urban tricking, and -thanks God!- called it Freerunning... yet Dan/Forrest/Stephane founded Parkour Generations
irony #2: the use of the word traceurs "puts limitations to the discipline"?...
irony #3: the Yamakasi convinced Stephan to return from Thailand and go to the UK? And joining Dan and Forrest? When they were with UFF??... It took them only a few weeks before founding PKGen???...
irony #4: he needed to "involve the right people"? The one that didn't do it by themselves? Why?...
irony #5: weren't the French traceurs others? Didn't he just named them one-by-one?
irony #6: people already did it without the right intentions, no?... Are we again forgetting UFF?
irony #7: statement about competition in complete contrast to what he said about it in the UFF documentary a few years before..
irony #8: the 'Ego aspect'... ok, I don't know about Stephane... but for being a shy guy is a damn lot on camera... I mean, of course he's committed to bring his and PKGen point across, but it's a double-edged sword...
irony #9: interesting idea the one of gathering all countries representatives... especially if they would need to be PKGen certified (he didn't say that, but PKGen actions and words -on other threads here- here speak for it)... it's a very "commonwealth of nations" approach... maybe a dash colonialistic?
irony #10: the Media already has the wrong idea of what the sport is...
Please consider that the above are statements directed to a VERY opinionated national forum...
