Train Hard - Stay Humble

Inspiration from anything for everyone!!! (warning: videos...)

Every now and then, I find myself a little "short on my dough" and going to the Y-M-C-A doesn't help... (Village People, 1978)
That's when I turn to YouTube for something REALLY inspirational, and usually not-directly-parkour-related, yet parkour transferable...

I will post a couple of my favorites, asking you to do the same, if you wish (embed or link), but trying to avoid obvious repetitions, uninspired commercials and predictable vids.
Also, writing a line, a title, or the reason why you deem it inspirational is nice, as well as keeping comments brief and as direct replies to each individual post...
=)
[This will also keep our video section free from non-pk clips...]

I'll start out...

"There's lots of days where I can't be bothered, and where I have to get up, and then I do, and I start finding my rhythm, and after 10, 15 minutes I start to love it."
How true.

I can barely do a flip having my body tucked, and she is flying with her body fully extended...

how does that work?!

...the same way it worked for her learning a double back tuck at age 31 (in 1992): practice-practice-practice.
Check this hilarious video skipping directly to 6:15.

and if Bela says "you can do it", you CAN do it, alright?

(and repeat it, 'cause "once it's never"...)

8 hours a day....aouuuuuu

I found it interesting to see the raw, unedited and unskewed footage of a person who does crazy, but well-executed movements like:

although he engages in some morally questionable activity in the first video several times, you can see the power, fluidity, improv and creativity that I feel somehow gets lost in repetitive training.

...I think "Don't do it" really summarizes well all I wanted to say.

;)

Haha yes... I'm guilty in getting inspiration from people doing crazy things (started after watching Oleg Vorslav's first video lol).

you are completely right though. A large portion of the parkour scene in eastern europe is dominated by machismo.

a video with a lot of nice bar-work, though (there's a small point where he takes a lot of technically unsophisticated but unnecessarily large drops):

my favorite part is, of course (predictably), the pants.

I remember watching videos of this guy from 2007... he wore dreads, was clumsy, a lot skinnier and not very well-coordinated.

"I've always felt like I had a slight different way to view a city..."
So how about San Francisco?

God bless you,  Danny MacAskill!

How come I've never trained at the Wave Organ? That looks fun.

This is just "wrong"...

...dude is 5'5".

:\

At some point "it's not about breaking records anymore"...
