Event Description

Hey guys,

Dan Edwardes is coming in to visit for a short while next week and he wants to jam with us! He's going to be helping out at the youtube live event and they day after we're going to hit up the bunkers in SF and do a little session there. It's going to be starting at 11am.

PK Generations sessions are notorious for their intense warmup and conditioning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9Eh2kLwA7I

Anyway, it's bound to be fun, and it's an opportunity to meet a big name in parkour! I know it coincides with the regular sunday session, but if you'd like to come join us, everyone is very welcome!

I know there's a thing against pkgens from the pkna guys, but like Sin says, it's a different training op and you can learn from anyone. Also, if you have issues with his business model or whatever, this is an opportunity to ask/confront/fight him about it.

...almost nobody involved with profitable (in terms of $$$) Parkour takes a clear stand about competition anymore, due to the obvious controversy in the communities.
Obviously businesses need to appeal to everybody (also larger non-profits, because they need support and donations to maintain their organizations)...

Anyway, a very recent discussion on competition and main world-wide players took place on PKNA, if interested...

Isn't Stephen Vigroux the head of Parkour Generations? If they favors competition like kaos said they did , I'm very disappointed.

Really depends on if I can get a ride out there. I've learned a lot of pkgen conditioning exercises through a traceur i know who saw them in Ohio, and they've all been very useful. I'd like to see what else I can pick up and share with others.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm slightly injured and, other than training, I don't have a particular interest in meeting Mr. Edwards at this point.

No thanks.

Reasons I don't support Dan Edwards' business (parkour generations):

1) They insult others. Dan Edwards - "they have no idea over there apart from the movies they watch. So the level of training in America and Europe are very different."

2) Parkour Generations promotes their members as idols to the young parkour audience.

3) Parkour Generations declined to collaborate with multiple non-profit groups that sought to create coaching programs for the community (instead they went with a model that was most profitable for their group).

4) They are in favor of competitions in parkour.

Regardless of how creators of this event may label it (jam, fun, community, etc.), the fact remains that it is meant to promote certain businesses (youtube & Parkour Generations). Dan Edwards wants to expose you to his brand of conditioning to help grow his business in the US. I do not support Parkour Generations, so I will not attend.

Directions info from the thread:

"Map: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Lincol...

Driving - Get onto 25th Ave, going North. Go right on El Camino del Mar. Stay on this and it'll turn into Lincoln Blvd. Keep going for a while along the curves, and you'll see some big buildings on your right, then immediately look to your left for the small street/turnoff at Langdon. You can park in the lot on the right by the buildings, or on the left on Langdon. If you hit Ralston Ave or Merchant Rd or the big intersection, you've gone to far! The map is a bit off, Langdon is really where the Parking Lot on the left is.

I believe the 29 Bus goes there but not sure, and not sure when or how frequently."
