Bay Area Parkour

Train Hard - Stay Humble

We have been talking quite a bit about this (AeroSF/Ryan and I had a looong thread going on artificial and/or portable obstacles in "another" forum...) and with the opportunity of this posting of mine on PKNA, I would like to re-gather all information in one thread, and getting the discussion going again.

I've dug out all the info for which we can claim some sort of intellectual property... lol... or that is in the public domain.

On BApk we talked about this topic on different threads:
- Parkour Vision
- Burning Man 2009 (equipment)
- Scaffolding Spots

Workshop in Amsterdam (NL)

Inspiring!

I'm so gonna design a parkour park on Google Sketchup now!

It would be so cool if we got enough money to buy a piece of property next to a park or something and build a parkour park, although, it is very unlikely that that will happen.
...hehehe ...never say "never" (not that you have)
;)
Alright, between the 300 members that are supposedly part of BAPK, that's still.......a lot of money for each person. Ah, well, we can dream. Maybe after more of us get jobs. :P
In the very best of cases, we have parkour seen as a way to aid people veer into a more favorable lifestyle such as they've done in the UK (cf Jump Westminster), eventually leading to city funded projects in order to further encourage the practice of parkour heh, one can dream
Yeah, in the United States? Not likely. :(
Of course we could at least go talk to the city about it, but then we would risk "no parkour" signs being put up all over the place.
...we can change. Yes, we can!
=)
...just a purposedly built scaffold for a workshop in Northern Italy. (they call it "meetings")

...where?
OZ park in Chicago:

Like most playgrounds, built for children so good for precision and accuracy instead of just going big (but also basically off-limits during daylight hours since it's inhabited by shorties and parents).
I prefer training in the urban environment. Parkour parks would be nice to have locally.
