Warm up (and latecomers meeting) 50 yds away at this WW2 battery:
Session description:
This training provides a healthy atmosphere for new practitioners to start parkour, and for everyone to advance in a safe way. This is achieved in several ways. Because safety is paramount, a positive example is set by the more experienced practitioners. This means you will always see warm ups, stretching, and slow progression of movement. It also means there will be no showing off, which leads to copy-cat behavior and subsequently injuries. Rather, people pass on knowledge humbly in a group effort to advance. While there may be several different skill levels represented at these sessions, everyone keeps a beginner mentality.
Another key aspect in this beginner atmosphere is the absence of media. There are no camera crews or reporters to get in the way or cause people to feel self-conscious. While individuals may bring cameras, they should politely ask before filming/shooting anyone other than themselves.
The perception that parkour practice is (and should be) fun, yet being "a discipline, not a game", is set from the beginning. While the atmosphere is relaxed and can be playful at times, horseplay is discouraged, and teasing, mocking, and cliquish behaviors are not tolerated...

@Autegracia: aside of this transferable, but a bit more advanced suggestions, jumping skills are directly correlated to leg strength, abs strength, muscular explosiveness ("hop"or "pop"), and mass.
Hence the basic suggestions would be:
- leg strengthening, to push oneself higher or further,
- abs strengthening, to collect one legs quicker after they terminated their propelling phase,
- keep your neurological connections young and explosive, by firing up your synapses with constant, yet different physical stimulations (that may require some specific work with a coach...),
- nutritional health improvement, to reduce excess body mass in a healthy way (without depressing the organism), while maintaining an energetic and nutritious diet.
Nevertheless, since "high enough" means something very different for everybody, in BApk parkour training philosophy we approach obstacles with the given ability. If the existing obstacle is unsurpassable, we change obstacle, or at least its size. There's nothing wrong with downsizing our challenges, train at a comfortable level for a while, and then slowly increasing the amplitude. We all do that.
Also, it should be noted, everything meaningful takes some time, commitment, and systematic approach.

Intense day for me. My GF is still having a hard time with the basics of jumping high enough. Are there any exercises to help her improve her jumping strength?
