Train Hard - Stay Humble

Inspiration from anything for everyone!!! (warning: videos...)

Every now and then, I find myself a little "short on my dough" and going to the Y-M-C-A doesn't help... (Village People, 1978)
That's when I turn to YouTube for something REALLY inspirational, and usually not-directly-parkour-related, yet parkour transferable...

I will post a couple of my favorites, asking you to do the same, if you wish (embed or link), but trying to avoid obvious repetitions, uninspired commercials and predictable vids.
Also, writing a line, a title, or the reason why you deem it inspirational is nice, as well as keeping comments brief and as direct replies to each individual post...
=)
[This will also keep our video section free from non-pk clips...]

I'll start out...

Kyozo Mifune & beautiful Judo:
...alright.
Good stuff!

To the 1st: finally somebody using ropes... lol!
No need to be suicidal to be awesome.

To the 2nd: 7 minutes of regular awesomeness, and then BANG! out-of-the-troposphere greatness.
O_o

To the 3rd: I don't have the instruments to appreciate it, BUT, I can relate one of the YT comments to our practice here (PK):
"i don't know why we are always quarreling about judo and jiu jitsu! i'm a judoka who loves judo but also bjj, in fact sometimes we train with people that comes from jj and both arts complement each other perfectly (the idea of both arts and the system is the same)...so i think judokas and bjj we must be together and training together and leave the excess of self confidence we all might have!"
:)
Of particular interest are the randori (free sparring) segments. It shows Mifune's extreme experience, sensitivity and timing. He is an old man sparring against younger/bigger/stronger guys, who also happen to be black belts. You may notice him deftly countering all their attempts to throw him, despite how tiny or light he was in comparison. I'm sure they felt that they could just pick the little man up and toss him, but Mifune knew exactly what it takes for each throw to work, and surgically disassembles them with minimal effort. Then, with a masterful touch and perfect timing, he conquers his partners' balance and guides them to the mat. Also notice how Mifune's Black Belt has faded from black to almost white --- an indication of his experience, but also symbolic of the spirit of the arts (e.g., humility, innocence, a beginner's mind).
Judo and BJJ, how the little guy conquers the bigger guy. 5/5! :D
I'm not a big MJ fan, but I identify with the sentiment of this ad:

I'm not a big fan of MJ's mustache...

Somebody once said: "Establish a good relationship with the ground"...
He did.
"At age seventy-eight, Fred Astaire broke his left wrist while riding his grandson's skateboard."

The music changes, but movement is eternal...

Who needs rolls when you've got a skateboard (and sick ollie technique)?
