In general...on this site...no I think you are wrong. For me personally, I have seriously questioned their methods ever since seeing "Generation Yamakasi." Specifically the scene beginning at 1:01:30. There are so many things wrong with what they did I cannot even begin to explain. See for yourself here. Some of the most extremely negligent coaching that is humanly possible (IMO).
Nowhere in this thread did I "disapprove Yamakasi";
I did say that I didn't like THIS VIDEO, and a couple of techniques used there...
I would have hoped that such an experienced guy would show clean techniques like he did in the recent music video, for example.
That's what your quote proves.
So I can't answer Alex question, because I haven't been disapproving Yamakasi, nor have I "jumped all over PK Generations, and criticized them", as Alex said, previously in the thread, everyone "on this website" would do.
Giogrio, I hate to bring negativity, but you started this.
"The video as such is allright (this impressed me way more... or any from Ilabaca, Chase, Blane, etc...)
1:21 and 1:28 (same) are near-misses,
-----------------
"So, no offense, but he's not a typical traceur and his technique doesn't seem to be very "reasoned" (thought-over?), instead it seems instintual, "gutsy"...
Even when they practice in the group... thinking about seeing them live, I would never get a feeling I'd want to join something like that...
While probably great for him: "dudes, don't do this at home!"
2:41 is a VERY BAD near-miss...
I'm surprised he would even show those."
So i mean....
Yeah, Alex's question is very relevant.
by the way, i've tried his was and it scuks. i dont even know why he doesnt try to change his landing. also there is such a thing as bad techniqe in parkour. I'm good example. i landed wrong and now my knee is injured. its no different than a catleap . And nobody ACTUALLY founded "parkour" i'd just say they gave it a name. just look at the old Zoro movie(theres a couple of other old classics with parkour with names i cant remember also) and the old 1930s footage. bottom line is, he shouldnt land his catleap like that, he'll get hurt. if u want to land drops your way, and cave in your leg( which will cause serious knee problems) GO AHEAD.
wtf is up with people combining sleeper music, with highspeed parkour?!?!?! i just dont get it i'd watch the whole video if it wasnt for that damn music!!
