Event Description

From SFPK Admin Meatlad:

"Hey everyone,

SFPK has been invited to set up a parkour station at the Power to the Peaceful Festival next Saturday, September 11, and you're all invited to stop by and jam and enjoy some free live music!

Power to the Peaceful is a free, annual one-day music festival started by Michael Franti and Spearhead (the headliners) in Golden Gate Park. There's going to be lots of booths of activist groups, they're going to lead a yoga class from the stage in the morning, and there should be plenty of awesomeness. Check out the website to see what other bands are playing and to get a sense of it.

They're setting aside an area for us and providing us with materials for vault boxes and other obstacles. There won't be a ton of stuff we'll be able to make, but enough for about 10 people we're hoping. We'll be inviting people in from the crowds to try parkour too, and it should be a good time.

We'll get there around noon probably and stay till Franti & Spearhead finish about 5ish (maybe later?).

Stop by!"

SFPK's monthly Beginner's Class, which normally switches between Justin Herman Plaza in SF and UC Berkeley, will also be held at the Power to the Peaceful festival. Details on the class can be found here: http://www.sfparkour.com/forum/showthread.php?p=56485#post56485

I assure you it was more than just a bunch of big double kongs... but with Aero there, it was mostly big double kongs. The blocks were freaking awesome, totally worth it to spend all day building them.

Looks like a great way to represent.

here's the original video of Lethalbeef doing a double kong while AeroSFCity does a long cat:

if you're using the latest version of VLC you can step through it frame by frame by pausing then pressing the letter e on your keyboard to advance one frame. In mplayer it would be the period key. I've also uploaded it to youtube, but there's not much point since you cant watch youtube in slow-mo:
