Bay Area Parkour

Train Hard - Stay Humble

The topic came up earlier, and I thought I'd bring it up again. Some key questions would be:

How do we want to portray our community?

What message is the documentary trying to convey?

How and where do we want to distribute it?

Who is willing to contribute and what can they contribute?

These are just a couple questions to kick off the discussion, any other thoughts or questions about the documentary would be very welcome.

You don't believe in collaborations and friendship, do you? ;P

I think that should do for now; if anybody else wants to lead or help out in any way you're very welcome to.
Ok, the LEADER is Me, Kirill, and Fyrel. We are one entity lol
If we're going to have more than one camera, they all need to be the same quality; otherwise it's going to look really off.
Very true. Anyone else have an HD camera? Mine is widescreen (16:9) but we can alter that during editing if we need to make it 4:3.

Maybe we'll just have to use one.
i'm pretty sure you can change the quality and everything in video edit programs(downgrade only of course)... hell if all else fails, you can always do it manually by forcing a video edit program to compress the clips into smaller files...
I don't want to cut any corners making this; it's generally a bad idea either way.
I have a tripod
Let's schedule two filming days in which we will conduct interviews and just film ourselves practicing parkour.

I was thinking we should have one at Washington High School and one at the Bunkers. Those are both very good places for scenic interviews, and they both offer a lot in terms of obstacles.

I'm going to set up an official event called "BAPK Documentary Fliming Day #1", but I will leave the time, date, and place blank so we can decide that on the event page in the comments.

I'll also ask Chris if it's okay to bring a camera to a couple of the beginners' sessions.
Well, in addition to those, I think having people film just at jams in general would be just fine, to add extra clips.
Yeah, definitely. I'll be taking a camera to the next few training sessions if chris approves.
I think we should at least have a planning session so we can have a single filming style; it'd be rather jarring to see a couple different kinds of filming in one documentary.
I wouldn't recommend bringing it into the beginners sessions...because that just screws people. Separate session!!!
