July 15
Damn the Summer is going faster than I'd thought - a mere 6 weeks or so before I venture North again, 12 since I left. I've learned loads, my LA brothers (and sister) welcomed me back and beat me :P Training bi- or triweekly has been a pleasure I've been savoring, something I expect to lose went I return to school. At least the triweekly.... I'll be trying my damnedest to keep biweekly with Andrea ;)
Tonight Taylor lead a workout of our arms, shoulders, and core. It was very satisfying, two hours of respectable work. I was reminded of workouts I should practice like pull ups where you're lying on the ground under a bar and keep yourself straight while you lift yourself with your arms up to the bar, or walking in a handstand along a wall. I could also use a lot more shoulder work to help my muscle ups. Taking from the architecture we had around us, Taylor invented a lot of exercises that were weird, but were certainly working something. Much of it got more intense the more precise and measured you were, so that was like a personal difficulty dial.
Taylor is an inspiration for how often he conditions and trains solo and works himself hard. He very much embodies the goal of self improvement... I'm hoping to solo train meself some day next week.
Orem out :P
P.S. Now and then during the session I'd practice a couple precisions. I'm finally onboard with the concept of swinging your legs ahead of you in the jump to kill your momentum in a precise spot when you land. Works like a charm, which is pleasing. Pleasing to do things better :]
