South Gloucestershire (UK):
Staple Hill Neighbourhood Police Community Support Officers Mike Holton and Kay Rees set up a coached session at Kingswood Leisure Centre on Friday May 08 2009 with the help of Bristol Parkour.
The sport's aim is to get from A to B as quickly as possible, jumping, twisting and turning to get past any obstacles in the way.
Around 40 young people aged 10-16 came to the session, which was also supported by Special Constable John Pearce and PCSO Support Karen Workman.
Neighbourhood Inspector Kevin Thatcher said: "This was a great and positive way for these young people to channel their energy. It certainly captured their enthusiasm! We are grateful to Bristol Parkour for ensuring they were able to learn these skills safely, and to Kingswood Leisure Centre and Tesco Metro at Staple Hill for sponsoring the session."
