I was told 1 to 4 on the occupancy, but i wasn't the one to set that up. we are expecting at least 150 participants. in the event there will be more than that, we will just fly over additional instructors. you might want to check both of those questions by sending an email to contact@parkourhorizons.com.. mail sent to that address will reach all the guys involved in the logistics and planning.

This is seriously tempting.

Any idea what the occupancy is on the group rate for hotel room? Some of those rates are already pretty cheap for one person, but really dirt cheap if it can be split.

Registration fee seems very reasonable, too, for access to experienced instructors- what's the limit on attendees/expected instructor:student ratio?

Biggest outlay will be the airline ticket. I'm going to keep an eye out starting now.

yeah, the guest coaches have been really cool about this. they are not looking for profit, and are working as volunteers. as for people who take an arrogant stance about training.. i think they are far and few between. for the most part, traceurs i have met from all over have been really down to earth people, including the first generation guys from europe. overall most people are pretty positive and supportive. i think that plays an important part of what makes this discipline so rewarding :)

...about the financial aspect of this (which was a HUGE deal on PKNA last year):
- of course the guest coaches should at least be reimbursed for traveling wherever they are traveling from, if people come to the workshop because of them, since they are already volunteering their time;
- of course 30 bucks a day is not much for this type of training: people pay routinely $15/25 to train in local gyms all the time;
- some people in the recent past have been concerned about events like this reinforcing the idea that there are "better" practitioners than others (hard to argue in therms of skills and amount and/or diligence of training), and that their idolization would be out of place in the Parkour world, and (bare with me) that it would eventually leak through to the local communities establishing a mentality where "I'm better than you, because I went here and there, and I trained with this and that; lemme show what I can do, and sorry I don't have time to help you, 'cause I've gotta make sure I stay ahead of the pack...".

Well... it's a fine line: it's up to everyone to participate to events like these with the desire of being enriched by the experience and stay and remain humble during and after the process.

We have all heard that it's about the trip not the destination, no?
Update:

Julie Angel will be present to document the event, and we also just received confirmation that all three head guys from the Majestic Force will be able to come. That is Yann Hnautra, Chau Belle and Laurent Piemontesi. We will have several (or more) guys from Parkour Generations as well, so this should be a pretty amazing experience. For anyone who is worried about the cost, all proceeds from the entrance fees are going toward paying for their airfare and accommodations. Any leftover funding will be put toward a BBQ cookout for all the attendees. Overall, this is a great deal, because the only other way you could train with all of these people would be to fly to Europe, and of course that would be a LOT more expensive. Be sure to keep an eye on the event website for additional details. More info will be continually added as we get it.
