Hey Jodie. I've been incredibly busy with school and my new job (a nanny for two six year old twins!) and haven't been getting out much lately. I really want to come to the jam this Sunday and I'll see if I can get out, even for an hour or so. If so...see you there!
Hey Jodie, many thanks for reply. Arrrgh, I know -- I got completely stuck in the South bay and simply didn't make it on time...
Many thanks for your kind offer. I've been meeting up with Andrey with some regularity, and it has given me a good start. Sill, I'd LOVE to get another persons perspective, so If you have time let's get together!! I'm in Noe Valley. Where are you?
Hey. Sorry I've still not been out...weekends have been crazy lately. I'm out of town this coming weekend, but hope to come out the following week. Do you ever go out on Saturdays or during the week?
Ya..I had to differentiate from the other Steves. ;) I know us Steve's have to stick together. Equal rights for Steve, Better working wages for Steve. Steve's right to vote!
But...Can you imagine logging in and seeing another Jodie? I think not...
:)
Seeing as how I can't even put weight on my foot at the moment, I'm worried about my parkour skills when I get back though, since I'll be out of practice in every way. I'll have to not over-do it but still get a lot of work in. Perhaps I need more practice for my walking, since that seems to be my worst skill
:)
Oh yeah...I am slowly recuperating. I think I woke up some muscles that were happily sleeping for many years. It is a good feeling though and I was so high,(endorphins and excitement that I made it through the first class), that I could not sleep for a couple hours after I got home. I will definitely be there next week.
yeah i got there at like 750 or so. felt awkward the whole time (you jinxed it...). saw the blue box, first thing, and worked up to a shitty slippitty slip kong to cat. i dunno how long it will be there for....
the way you fell on that kong is how its gonna happen everytime for you. once you got it down, with the momentum and the ability to carry it, you have to remember to move your gorilla arms faster to keep up the with new speed of everything else. remember not to forget them by focusing too much on stride, kanding, premeditating rolls while you are going.
its scary and this is when you have to overcome that HOLY SHIT feeling you got and not lose any confidence you have spent so much time working for. Thats where the awesomeness comes from.
Thanks, Jodie! Hopefully I'll see you around later in the summer.
It felt really good to be doing parkour again, after such a long time without. It's going to take some time to be back to 100%, but today showed me that I'm still capable even in a diminished capacity.
I noticed that you go to the Tuesday jams I'm thinking about going myself next time. my question is how much more advanced are these jams. I want to be able to keep up at least!... maybe it's just me being a little too self-conscious. Either way I'm going to try and make the next one.
thanks, i'm just trying not to waste the extra time i've got. gonna have to get a job soon, but i'll still be out there every weekend i hope :) Can't wait to train with you again either, you'll at least definitely see me up there for a bit in august...
