The longer the kong, the more like QM it is, ie the more your arms are going to behave like your legs in the way they redirect the force of the dive. So practice a lot of QM, practice diving onto your hands and controlling your landings, both the ...

This is great. The traceurs attending will definitely have an edge over others participating, and maybe we'd be able to find and initiate some new traceurs over the course of the event. Is anybody here planning on doing this?

What should I do?

So far this year, I consider myself to have regressed, lacking the patience and ultimately courtesy I had 2 years ago. I'm not as confident, maybe not as eager, but I am still motivated to change this decline. I've read on societies that I admire, learned about Spartans (although disagreeing with many of their philosophies), Zulu's, Shaolin Monks (highly agreeing with all of their philosophies), Ninja and it all seems that they gather strength most from a kinship, training alongside one another.… Continue

Mizu (gkdrummerboy)

Why I practice Parkour.

In the beginning I saw a clear path, a strong motivation, and a whole lot of meaning. Over the months it has disintegrated, I no longer had the drive and lost my way. But recently, my old drum teacher gave me a call, he had moved to Arizona and came over to my house for a lesson. He described everything spiritual in drumming, how it is a dance, how one fluid motion resides over all the tom's, cymbals. And that's when it hit me. I had given up the idea of drums recently when Parkour was here. But… Continue

Training Solo vs. Training with a Group -Which is better? How to train solo?

I find training solo to be hard, I often will go out and train alone, but be "tired" within a half hour. What I really need is just a one on one session with an experienced tracuer to start me off with solo training. Or any tracuer for that matter. Does any one else know what I'm talking about when I say, that training alone tires you out faster and makes you less eager? I want to know how solo training should be structured, how my mentality should be, when is it enough? And where? Should I cut o… Continue

...indeed, I do pay.
Consider that at my stage in life I can somehow afford it (while I'm not saying it's cheap AT ALL... twice a movie!?!), and it's a way of supporting the spreading of parkour (in a very small sense...).

The class is somehow more convenient if you register for the full 10 weeks session going down to $22.5/class (which is really $15/hour, which is pretty standard... too bad we can't do just one hour..).
Of course if you miss just one of them, your pro class rate increases, since there are no refunds.

Nevertheless I suspect that not everybody is 'contributing' all the times, and I know that there's been free trial passes for 'newcomers'. How long can you consider yourself a newcomer, and the related logistics to get into class have to be discussed with Ryan/Aero...

On a separate note: what about Silent Session THIS Friday 9/8?
