Event Description

Fall session starts on Wednesday 9/8.

After establishing and leading the first gym program for beginners to intermediates in San Francisco, Chris passed it over to AeroSFCity (aka Ryan) first, and now Jodie (lately helped out by Jason, aka "Duperhero", and now by Niko).

Call (415-665-2276) to find out about actual spots availability, but generally there is room for a few drop-in students.

Drop-ins are now (a ridiculously SF-inflated) $27(!)...
The rate is somehow better if you pay for the entire, or pro-rated, session in advance. (More affordable gym training in Marin, just about over the GG Bridge...)

email: info@acrosports.org

BApk coaches at this location -since April 2007- (<- lol!... but true!)

A frequent user suggestion: "...if you are just a drop in, try to be pumped, get a good rest the night before, an hearty lunch, drink plenty before/during, get there 6:40, take care of business ($$$ at the office), go on the side of the floor, or for a short run around the block, warm up/stretch, try to get "in the zone", take the class, do everything +1, hydrate plenty, stay for the last "open floor" minutes, and make sure you stretch another 10', while cooling down... overall that will result in almost 2 hours exercise... go home, shower, eat, post on BApk and go to bed... ;P
If it felt good, and you didn't over do it, it was a worthwhile investment...

...2 great teachers tonight.
At least a dozen among new students, indoor-ers and actual traceurs? Maybe more...

Really great mood... testified here.

I might drop in...I have the week off work. It's still okay to drop in, right?

I've read recently two interesting posts on PKNA, which sounded like this: ...my training has slowed to a near halt in recent months. i recently got the idea that instead of trying to "pick up where i left off", i would actually go all the way back to square one and attempt to "relearn" every technique as if i had never started. i see this a perfect opportunity to correct bad habits i acquired in my early training, increase both safety and efficiency, and refine the more subtle aspects of each movement... I have seen some traceurs (myself included) "forget" what it was like to start parkour and as a result be some what less than helpful when working with new people. i figure the best way to get back to the roots of parkour, is to become a seed again...."...and

"Since I started re-learning, I decided to relearn everything on the side that I was least familiar with as well as keeping familiarity with my stronger side"...

I just thought that's a great concept!
I'm going to go to back to the class that started me in pk one year ago, with one only goal: Ambidexterity...

...ok, after a year casually, but regularly dropping in at Acro, I can reasonably say it: tonight was probably the best class ever!

Beside the friendly -almost brotherly- environment, the very good condition training and the alternation of the two floors (thanks to the availability of Andrew, Kaos's aid instructor), I very much liked that we had a group of 14 -I believe- from the absolute beginners to the double-konging outdoor practitioner training side-by-side without attitude or intimidation, sharing the same obstacles, adapting the various levels and techniques to them...

We ended up doing pretty much 2 hours and a small group of hardcore parkour-flies (the ones that never want to leave...) sealed it with a very well deserved double-pizza!
=)

Awesomeness.
